David P. Abel, J.D., M.B.A., is the founder and Managing Partner of DP Abel LLC. He is an accomplished securities and business attorney with a distinguished record in litigation, operations and advisory counseling. He possesses a deep understanding of federal securities laws and financial markets, supported by years of experience representing institutional investors and advising clients on complex corporate governance matters. His expertise extends to advising litigation funders and venture capital on litigation merits, procedure and economics. He also provides consulting services to businesses and law firms who are integrating advanced technologies into legal operations, including artificial intelligence (AI) applications for case origination and client development.

David advises fintech and legal services organizations on issues arising from securities litigation and regulatory compliance. His work includes conducting merits assessments, damages analysis and developing innovative platforms to streamline legal processes. Previously, he served as Managing Attorney at a boutique DC law firm, where he oversaw operations, originated proprietary case strategies and represented institutional investors in securities and antitrust litigation. He also acted as a legal advisor to a litigation funding company, counseling stakeholders and coordinating large-scale investor projects.

Earlier in his career, David litigated securities class actions at a nationally recognized firm. He focused on case starting, portfolio monitoring and lead plaintiff appointments. He also managed complex discovery and drafted pleadings and briefs for high-stakes cases. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Charleston School of Law, an M.B.A. from The Citadel, and a B.A., cum laude, from Clemson University with dual majors in Speech & Communication and Spanish. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple federal and state courts, David combines rigorous legal knowledge with strategic insight to deliver exceptional results for his clients.
